Brightline is addressing the first- and last-mile challenge by tapping into Uber’s API. Commuters and travelers can book trips to and from five Brightline train stations within the Brightline app, as well as purchase tickets for the train itself and plan their entire journey without juggling multiple apps or websites. South Florida Regional Transportation Authority’s Tri-Rail service provides a range of shared mobility options for riders to get to and from their stations, including Uber. Riders simply scan a 2D barcode on the Tri-Rail website to receive a connecting trip at no cost.
