Cyber resilience in PTO environments
Cyber resilience requires a coherent alignment of People, Processes, and Technologies to address potential vulnerabilities of systems running on the PTO’s main networks: Safety (SCN), Operational (OCN), Administrative (ACN) and Third-Party Control Networks. Special attention should be given to IT and OT network segmentation. Careful planning is required to anticipate hacks based around standards and regulations to block attacks before they happen. Means must be implemented to withstand attacks. A recovery plan which considers safety must be enforced and special measures to avoid the cascading effect, must be put in place.
