With a background in Physics and Electronics Engineering, Daniel Navascués Benito started his career in railway transportation 20 years ago. Before joining Siemens, he worked in the development of products for Telecommunications and Automation for wayside and on-board applications, collaborating with different industry leaders. He also worked over the years in the roll-out of these products across different projects in Spain and overseas. Currently, he is the head of the Telecommunications and SCADA team in Siemens Mobility Spain, combining that role with the Product Management activities for Railway Telecommunications at Siemens Mobility Headquarters in Germany.

The question is how you optimize this limited urban space with the goal of building more liveable cities. The desire is to have an optimization which is beneficial for passengers and operators alike. The development of an integrated control system for the holistic control of a station is the logical step forward. Passengers who are attracted by consistent and up-to-date information about their journey and environment and operators who are interested in consistent and real-time information about their station assets.
