Cristián Navas is a senior specialist in the Transport Division representing Chile, where he works in the areas of urban transport policy development, emerging technologies for mobility and infrastructure for transport systems. He has worked in the development and planning of transport systems for more than 15 years, both in the private and public sectors. He has led the development of non-motorised mode plans and policies in the Chilean Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications and has been project manager of several urban transport initiatives, public transport oriented development, demand management and road safety.

Between 2014 and 2016 he was project manager at the Concessions Directorate of the Chilean Ministry of Public Works, where he led the development of public-private partnerships (PPP) in the fields of transport infrastructure and public transport systems. Since 2022, he has formed and participated in alliance with the Civil Aeronautics Board of Chile, in the development of the table for the construction of the Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) roadmap in Chile.  Cristián is a Civil Engineer with a major in Transportation from the University of Chile (2004) and holds a Master’s degree in Urban Studies and Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (2017).
