Mr Adi Lau joined the MTR Corporation in 1982 and has held various management positions related to the design, construction, operations and maintenance of the Company’s railway system in Hong Kong and the Mainland China. Prior to his current position as President of the Global Operations Standards Institute, Mr Lau took up the positions of Operations Director in May 2016, Managing Director–Operations and Mainland Business in Jan 2020, and Managing Director – Mainland China Business and Global Operations Standards between Jul 2021 and Dec 2022.
Mr Lau is responsible for managing and overseeing the global railway operations standards to ensure the sharing and learning of best practices across the Company’s railway operations in different cities.
Mr Lau is the president of the China Hong Kong Railway Institution, the chairman of the UITP Metropolitan Railways Committee. He is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers.
