  • June 05: Accelerating zero emission bus deployment II

DigiZity: Innovative Solutions for Decarbonization, Digitalization and Automation of Urban Transport

DIGIZITY, is a huge project of digitalization, automation and decarbonization of public transport. The main aim is deploying a zero emissions city model, boosting a sustainable mobility and the modal transition from the private vehicle to the public transport. Under the leading of Avanza, the project is taking place in Zaragoza city, where the first living lab was developed and designed in a real environment and available in an urban service line. Thanks to this project, during 2023 Zaragoza will gain the first electric and automatically driven line connected through 5G and WIFI6 to improve the V2X communications by means of an intelligent system of shared driving between the driver and the unmanaged bus. The bus will also include dynamic maps that will be created by means of on-board equipment in the vehicle. This will increase the safety and comfort for end users of the service.
