Climate risks and adaptation of New York City’s network

This presentation will share the progress that MTA New York City Transit has made since Superstorm Sandy occurred 10 years ago. The slides include details from the Capital program, Subways and Buses. With the support of the federal government, insurance proceeds and local funding the MTA put together a multi-billon dollar program to address coastal storm risks and how that money was put to use to create a more resilient system. We will close by sharing the MTA’s move to transitioning the fleet to electric buses and the supporting infrastructure that is needed. This presentation is a glimpse at how New York City Transit has started to make the system resilient like the customers we move daily.
