A member of the UITP Light Rail Committee, Paolo has been serving as Chair since September 2021. Previously he was Deputy Chair since May 2019, and chaired the Working Group dedicated to research on catenary-less power supply for LRT since 2010.
Paolo dedicated his entire career to the development of light rail in various European countries and since 2001 he has been associated with public transport in Ireland including the very successful Luas LRT in Dublin. He led this programme since the construction of the Red and Green Line in several roles as contractor and representative of the public transport authority.
At present he leads the Public Transport Capital Programmes Business Unit within Transport Infrastructure Ireland with a remit that encompasses the entire scope of public transport projects from inception to operational start-up.
Paolo is also involved in mentoring programmes for executives within the transport industry.
