Pietro Buffoni is a third year PhD student, focusing on innovative mobility solutions and their integration in transit planning practices. His background is in urban politics and urban sociology, and he is passionate about innovative urban transportation.
He also brings previous professional experience in a software company working with municipalities’ smart city departments to advance data sharing and data analysis for urban planning. After this professional experience, he decided to engage in research on urban transportation planning, including transport demand modeling and urban travel forecasting, to support the innovative provision of public transportation services with a renewed focus on transport accessibility. He is also currently working as research assistant at the Urban Transportation Center of the University of Illinois at Chicago.
