The Barcelona low emission zone
The Barcelona low emission zone covers an area of 100 km2 and 8 municipalities. Pollutant vehicles are restricted on weekdays from 7am to 8pm. The Barcelona low emission zone has reduced the circulating pollutant cars from 20% in 2017 to 2% in 2023. The Barelona model has been adopted by the Spanish Government to be implemented in the main cities of the country.
