Manel Villalante is Renfe’s General Director of Development and Strategy, President of czech operator Leo Expres and CEO of Renfe of America.Since January 2019 he has been President of the UIC’s Global Passengers Forum.He was Director of Mobility and Transport Infrastructure at Barcelona Regional Urban Development Agency, Director General of Land Transport at the Ministry of Public Works, Director General of Land Transport at the Generalitat de Catalunya, Director of Mobility at Barcelona City Council and has held various management positions at FGC and at TMB.
He has also been a member of different Boards of Directors in companies such as Renfe Operadora, TMB, FGC and the Sagrera Alta Velocidad Consortium. He currently directs the postgraduate course in Smart Mobility: Intelligent Transport Systems at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and has been a lecturer in Transport Planning and Economics at the same university.
