EMPRESA MUNICIPAL DE TRANSPORTES DE MADRID S.A.
EMT Madrid (Empresa Municipal de Transportes de Madrid S.A.) is the reference surface mobility operator in the city of Madrid. Created in 1947, it is a public company 100% owned by Madrid City Council in charge of managing the bus service, underground parking facilities, the tow trucks service, the public e-bikesharing system and the Casa de Campo cable car.
Yearly, the EMT’s buses are travelling more than 90 million kilometres and carrying 372,9 million passengers (2022 figures), 365 days a year, and 24 hours a day, becoming a critical infrastructure of the urban ecosystem and therefore, playing an important role on the normal functioning of the city.
