• Born in Valladolid on 15 November 1968.
• Graduated from the UVA with a Bachelor of Laws.
• Master of Political Management from Fundación Jaime Vera.
• Practising lawyer from 1995 until his inauguration as Mayor of Valladolid in June 2015.
• PSOE member since 1990; he began his political career in Valladolid in 2004 a Deputy Secretary General of the Provincial Executive Committee of Jorge Félix Alonso.
• Socialist Group Councillor on the Valladolid City Council since 2007, leading the team as President of the Group since 2008.
• Secretary General of the PSOE Municipal Executive Committee in Valladolid since 2009.
• President of the Spanish Healthy Cities Network for the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces, FEMP, from November 2015 to December 2019.
• First Vice President of the OICI (Ibero-American Organisation for Intermunicipal Cooperation).
• Spokesperson for the PSOE Federal Executive Committee from June 2017 to October 2021.
• Member of the FEMP Governing Board since September 2019.
• Vice President of the Eurocities Economic Development Forum.
• Representative of FEMP in the Local Forum for the Spanish Urban Agenda.
