Are battery buses safe - decade of experience in deploying large scale electric buses fleet

From the very beginning, Solaris has paid particular attention to safety issues. Granted type-approvals are proof that the buses manufactured by the company are safe for users. Apart from meeting all obligatory requirements, additional systems and solutions are installed on board of the vehicles to prevent situations that may endanger the health and lives of those using them. The buses are equipped with solutions that guarantee protection of entire vehicle, its individual systems and components. These include a range of mechanical solutions, electrical safety features, technical design of the battery, battery architecture and control system, all of which significantly reduce the risk of so-called thermal runaway reaction. The presentation will describe in detail all these solutions and explain what types of test and approval procedures are required for battery electric buses.
