Following years of experience in the automotive industry, Peter Bijvelds started a project in 2010 with a view of realizing the possibilities that he saw in electric public transport. This project ultimately led to the official establishment of Ebusco in 2012. Driven by strong inner motivation, by bringing together experts from different fields in Ebusco, he has successfully developed and applied new technologies. Ebusco has meanwhile grown from an enterprising start-up with a high innovative content into a dynamic, internationally oriented company, though still characterized by innovation and entrepreneurship.

The impact of weight on the total cost of ownership

With a product, normally constructed out of steel or aluminum, Ebusco saw the need to revolutionize the industry standard and changed the development of electric city buses. With their clear vision of the electrification of public transport, Ebusco has declared a complete fool back in 2012. This did not discourage them and the multi-year development plan was set in motion, resulting in the introduction of the Ebusco 3.0. An electric bus with a casco made entirely of composite materials. Last year, Ebusco launched the 18-meter version of the Ebusco 3.0 which has an even bigger impact on the Total Cost of Ownership than the 12-meter version. Ebusco explains how important the weight is on the efficiency of the bus and what the impact of this is on the TCO.
