Rajnish Kumar Rana works as Joint General Manager/ Operations in Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited. He joined DMRC in 2002. He has vast experience in all aspects of operations of Metro Rail. It includes the experience of station operations, train operations, operations planning, man power planning, Operation Control Centre, Last mile services, data management etc.
He played key role in commissioning of 1st Train Simulator and Computer Based Training (CBT) system in Delhi Metro in 2005-06. In 2007, he was instrumental in setting up of Last Mile Connectivity cell in DMRC and managing of first feeder bus services in DMRC.
He is responsible for physical set up and initiating functioning of I-metro after its inception. He also works as lead officer of DMRC for Comet, UITP & I-Metro.

Commencement of any new transport project not only has impact on the existing transport systems but also has implications for the economy, environment and society. Improvement in transport systems often influences the economic and social well-being of citizens in the form of wider access to opportunities, improved mobility, time and cost savings and so on. In order to estimate these effects, socio-economic assessments are widely undertaken. DMRC has also done significantly in ensuring socio-economic benefits and same will be delivered in the speech.
