Maria has been working on transport, mobility and urban policy for more than 15 years, with experience in academia, consultancy, government and the public sector.
Born in Porto, Portugal, 1983.
Graduated in Civil Engineering (FEUP – Faculty of Engineering University of Porto).
Master in Civil Engineering (FEUP) with a dissertation in the area of mobility and urban planning.
2006-2007 – research assistant (FEUP Transport Planning Laboratory).
2007-2013 – project-manager in optimization and organization of urban transport (TRENMO Engenharia S.A.).
2013-2015 – Portuguese Government advisor in the areas of environment, smart cities, urban regeneration and European Funds.
2016-2022 – worked in management of European Structural Funds (Managing Structure of IFRRU 2020 Financial Instrument for Urban Rehabilitation and Revitalization)
Since May 2022 – Vice-President of Companhia Carris de Ferro de Lisboa (CARRIS), responsible for operations, maintenance, innovation, environment and safety. Board Member of Carrisbus (buses and trams maintenance).
