Sessions

  • June 07: E-Poster Session 6

    Travelling in a Woman’s Shoes

Travelling in a Woman’s Shoes’ is the first study of its kind for Ireland. Its objective is to understand how women in Ireland experience transport and mobility, and it also explored reasons for women’s modal choice, daily challenges faced and how to better address these. Understanding travel patterns and behaviours is crucial to providing better transport infrastructure and services and offering people attractive and viable options as alternatives to the private car. Based on findings of the study TII has developed a Gender Lens Checklist Tool for its light rail projects. The tool is currently being piloted with the Luas Finglas project, a 4km extension to the light rail network in Dublin.
  • June 05: Diversity in motion: Meeting the current and future needs of passengers
